A practical move-out carpet checklist

1. Check your lease for a professional-cleaning requirement. 2. Book the clean after furniture is removed but before the final walkthrough. 3. Flag stains, pet areas and odors when booking so the quote covers them. 4. Clear small items and debris from carpeted rooms. 5. Allow drying time — a few hours is typical. 6. Keep the service note for your records. 7. Walk the carpet with your landlord or agent after it's dry.
